Support Chick-fil-A and Traditional Marriage

I would really like to go to the Support Chick-fil-A event tomorrow, but after surgery yesterday I am not sure I will be able. Many people will probably stay away because of the crowds, but I encourage you to wait through the crowds in order to help send an important message to the media.

This event scheduled for Wednesday, August 1, was not started by Chick-fil-A, but by Governor Mike Huckabee. The reason you should suffer through incredibly long lines tomorrow is so that the overwhelming crowds attending Chick-fil-A will make the news and show Hollywood, politicians, and the mainstream press just how many Americans support Traditional Marriage and the freedom of any business to have an opinion that differs from the rest of the corporate pack.

Most businesses in this country support gay and lesbian marriages. I seriously doubt it is because they truly care about the rights of this small percentage of our population. More than likely it is because they have been cowered into submission by a mere 3.5% of the population. How could such a small group have so much control over the business decisions of Corporate America? Because that 3.5% is loud, have deep pockets, and will militantly attack any company that does not bow to their will. It could also be because the national perception is that 25% of Americans are gay or lesbian (see GALLUP Poll, U.S. Adults Estimate that 25% of Americans Are Gay or Lesbian).

If you prefer to simply sit back and let a small group of people determine what you are allowed to believe or what business owners are allowed to believe, then stay home tomorrow and go to Chick-fil-A when it is much less crowded so that you do not create any undo stress in your hectic schedule. On the other hand, if you believe that as Americans we have the freedom to believe in God and His precepts and the freedom to speak our opinions without being branded by the mainstream press as hateful, bigoted, or homophobic, then you need to plan to wait in Walt Disney length lines for your breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Chick-fil-A tomorrow.
